Another top day at Felixstowe - relaxing morning at home getting ready for
our next trip away in our lovely little campervan, then in the afternoon I
headed down to The Dip in the hope of sailing up the coast to met Jono
Dunnett who is the first windsurfer to sail around the UK unaided !!! A few
of the local had come down to met him including Roger Vickers,Mark
Smalling, Peter Cutts and Ian Clarke :) Someone had come from Ipswich to
see him and he said that he had left Adleburgh earlier so I quickly rigged
my longboard and started to beat up the coast in the light airs :( After a
short time I saw a sail in the distance and we met up by the Martello tower
at East Lane :) We sailed back to The Dip together chatting along the way,
Jono also took a few pics :) Back at the beach it was hand shaking and
congratulations all round - Maureen Vickers made a tray of tea and we spent
a pleasant hour or so chatting about Jono's 2000 mile adventure!!! Mark
Swain turned up to join the party and then we carried his gear to Swainy's
house where he is spending the night. Then tomorrow e few of us are hoping
to sail with Jono on the last leg of his journey which ends at Clacton pier
- we are hoping to get to Dovercourt which is only 6 miles down the coast,
we hope to set off at 10 in the morning - all welcome to see him off. What a
top man Jono is and this is an amazing achievement !!!
